Marion County Imagination Library Receives Twin Lakes Foundation Grant

by

The Friends of Marion County Library (FOMCL) have received notification of a Twin Lakes Foundation grant in the amount of $2000.00 has been awarded to the Marion County Imagination Library (MCIL). The Dolly Parton Imagination Library give children from birth to five years old a free book per month. The Imagination Library is a proven, evidence-based program that helps prepare children for kindergarten and long-term academic success. By delivering high-quality books each month, we not only nurture a love of reading but also provide families with the tools they need to be their child’s first and most important teacher. Arkansas children enrolled in the Imagination Library program score 5-10% higher on school readiness exams than their peers, with the greatest impact seen among children from low-income households. We are currently seeking funding partners to achieve this success for our community. In addition to business and corporate partners, we feel this will appeal to parents and grandparents to sponsor their children. Would you please consider to continue to advance our children of Marion County in the pursuit of education. We are hopeful you will consider our request for financial support. You may make donations online to www.imaginationlibrary.com or mail a check to the Marion County Imagination Library at P.O. Box 584, Yellville, AR 72687.
