Summer is coming to a close, and us here at the Marion County Library are working on making some helpful changes and awesome updates. Check them out below!

Firstly, let us announce that we have not just one, but three new Reading Challenges for our patrons. They are the 50 Library Book Challenge, the Book Cover Bingo, and finally, the Reading The Decades Challenge.

In Library, we now have two displays up front.

One is an Educational Resources section with books and games that will help your kids with subjects like math, science, and reading. If you’re a homeschooling parent and need a book we don’t have, please let us know! We want to help.

The second display is an Endangered Books section, where you can find adult books that haven’t checked out in 5 years. Check one out today to save it from being weeded!

As for our website changes, we now have an Online Suggestion Box! Did you know? Patron suggestions are read at Library Board Meetings.

Here, you can let us know about program ideas, items we should purchase, or other general suggestions. Please note, all suggestions are subject to Head Librarian and/or Library Board approval.

Finally, we have also added a new way to search our Catalog. It only shows you books, audio books, and movies that can be found in our Children’s Section. This catalog is fun for kids to look at themselves, and allows them to choose by topic – including options like religion, dragons, and family.
